DENMARK
RESIDENT HAS MULTIPLE TIES WITH
Classic Cars Can Be Seen And Country Music Can Be
Heard Almost Anywhere In America. Seems That Combination Is Becoming More
Common In Many Places Worldwide.

(August 1, 2007 - Lebanon, Tennessee)
Klaus Sorensen and his wife, Doris, live in Ringsted, Denmark, close
to their son, Mikkel and daughter, Gitte. Being a normal guy, Klaus has
been interested in cars, especially American made, for as long as he can
remember. Eventually he found himself in the position to own a 1966
Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. Earlier this year while surfing the
Internet, Klaus found a beautiful red 1965 Mustang Fastback for sale at the
Lebanon, Tennessee based Classic Cars Southeast showroom, approximately 30
miles east of Nashville. He really wanted the Fastback so he sold his Eldorado to purchase it. An added benefit to this deal is that spare parts
are easier to obtain for Ford products in Denmark, making it possible for
Klaus to do most maintenance and repair work himself. He is extremely happy
with his purchase and it is common for him to be seen cruising around the
beautiful Denmark countryside in his equally beautiful "American made"
Mustang Fastback.
The new Mustang seems to fit in quite nicely at the
Sorensen family home, in a rural setting of Ringsted, Denmark. When asked
what his wife, Doris, thinks about his automotive hobby, Klaus is quick to
respond, "she sometimes thinks I am crazy, but she puts up with me and still
loves me". Klaus has added some new decorative trim to the car's engine and
he admits that there is almost as much enjoyment working on the Mustang as
there is driving it. "I appreciate the sound of a smooth engine and the
rush of a real V8", says the classic enthusiast, "personally doing all of
the work on my vehicle makes it more of an adventure and offers a greater
satisfaction".
According to Klaus, there are about 10 American car clubs on the isle
where he lives. Throughout Denmark there are at least 30 American car
clubs, the Danish Mustang Club has about 1200 members. Many of his
buddies are members of the "Buick Club of Denmark" and he often hangs
out with them. There are numerous qualified American automobile
mechanics in Denmark, however, most owners there try to personally build
or restore their autos with parts they buy directly from the US. Klaus'
son, Mikkel, has acquired the same attraction to the American classics
as his dad. Mikkel is the proud owner of a 1965 Chevrolet Impala, is
just as involved in the American classic phenomenon and often attends
club meetings with his dad.
Klaus also has a great appreciation for American country music and it is
second only to his love of the classic cars, either could someday bring
him to America. He has been playing drums since the age of twelve,
originally with a rock & roll beat. However, in the late 1980's he fell
in love with American country music and began playing it. The
"Nashville sound" was very popular in Denmark, so in 1999 Klaus and a
friend, Tommy Stolarczyk, began playing the music in their hometown of
Ringsted. The two heard Dorthe Diness singing at a local cafe' and both
agreed that she was the missing link for an absolutely great American
country band.
Soon after being asked, Dorthe accepted the invitation to join the guys
as a member of their band. "Dorthe has been a great asset to our
efforts", said Klaus, "in addition to being the lead singer, she is also
responsible for the lyrics and music composition." Klaus - an IT
technician (vocals & drums), Dorthe - a school teacher (vocals, guitar &
piano) and Tommy - a retired employee of the local road construction
authority (vocals bass & harmonica) are the components of a great
sounding band, "Lily's Voice". The trio has one goal in mind; that is
to just have fun with their music.
To purchase a CD or gather additional information on the band check out
their website at

Klaus takes a break, from cruising in his newly acquired Mustang, at
the
historical "Bjernede Church", a famous landmark approximately 5
miles
from his home and about 40 miles from Copenhagen. The structure,
built in 1170,
is the only round church left on the ensel sealand where Klaus
lives. During the
years 1000 to 1300, such round structures were built for the
combined purposes of
basic function and as a security fortress. There are only 7 of these
round buildings
remaining throughout the country of Denmark.

Klaus has never had the opportunity
to visit America, however,
he dreams of someday visiting the
country where all of his favorite
classic vehicles were manufactured.
He likes the 60's style autos
and is very excited about his new
purchase. Friends and neighbors
are likely to see him cruising in it
or working on it most any time.
“The classic lines of the Mustang is
what I like most about my new auto",
admits Klaus, "they are the
greatest attraction and that's why
I wanted this exact car."

Klaus, (left) with his friends Dorthe and Tommy, make up Denmark’s
country
music band "Lily's Voice". The group released a CD in 2004, which was
well
received by radio stations and fans in that country. Due to Klaus'
recent
association with friends at Classic Cars Southeast in Lebanon, Tennessee,
the
trio's music has also received play on radio stations in the Tennessee
regions
of
Knoxville and Nashville (Music City).
