SPIKE Network’s Power Block TV Pays Tribute To The 1963 Corvette Stingray Split-Window

______________________________________________________________________________

(June 18, 2008 – Lebanon, TN)  Executives with SPIKE TV’s POWER BLOCK programming recently visited Lebanon, TN based Classic Cars Southeast in search of a unique 1963 split-window Corvette Stingray.  The executives were coordinating production of a special tribute to the rare vehicle and to their surprise, not one, but two ’63 split-window Vettes were found at the dealership.  Therefore, they returned armed with an entire production crew to compile a story about the rare vehicle.  POWER BLOCK is a popular two hour block of programming time dedicated to auto related entertainment.  It is broadcast from Noon to 2 PM CST each Saturday and again from 11 AM to 1 PM each Sunday on the SPIKE network.  The feature filmed in Lebanon will be aired later this year in the “Flashback” segment of MUSCLE CAR, one of four program components that fill the two hour time frame.

“We were thrilled to find two “split-window” Corvettes in such immaculate condition at Classic Cars Southeast”, said MUSCLE CAR producer, Andrew Houston.  “The dealership has assisted with subjects for past Power Block show segments and they always come through with interesting vehicles our viewers are anxious to see”.  For the two hour period each Saturday and Sunday, car enthusiasts are treated to anything and everything automotive via the four POWER BLOCK programs, which consist of HORSE POWER, MUSCLE CAR, TRUCKS and EXTREME 4X4.  Interesting and informative content within the four shows covers the items car enthusiast want to know about various vehicles.  Additional information on the popular TV series can be found on line at www.powerblocktv.com.

The Corvette, known as America’s sports car, always draws attention no matter what year it was manufactured.  However, the 1963 “split-window” is very special due to a limited number produced.  Both vehicles that attracted the Power Block TV executives are part of a personal collection belonging to Dale Nunnery, founder and president of Classic Cars Southeast.  One, a recently acquired red fuel-injected coupe, is one of the most desirable classic car collectables.  Out of 10,594 1963 coupes manufactured, there were only 1,700 fuelies produced and Nunnery is the third owner of this “all-correct matching numbers” vehicle that sports a 327ci/360hp engine and 4 speed manual transmission.  Additional information on the dealership can be found at the company’s website, www.classiccarsse.com.

“It was our sincere pleasure and special honor to, once again, provide vehicles for Power Block programming at SPIKE TV”, said Nunnery, “Corvettes are always favorites of our customers and whenever we have them in our showroom, they don’t last long”.  The dealership’s clients come from all over the world and Nunnery says they always pay close attention to the Corvette selection, especially Europeans.  Nunnery, recently honored for his appreciation of and contributions to the preservation of classic automobiles, recognizes the important role the Corvette has played in America’s automotive history and tries to become involved with its promotion whenever possible.  In fact, Classic Cars Southeast is a co-sponsor of the 2008 Corvette Homecoming, which will be held in Bowling Green, KY on July 18, 19 & 20.  Additional information on the planned activities for this exciting Corvette event can be found on line at www.corvettehomecoming.com.

A perfect summer day and a beautiful country atmosphere provided the desired setting for filming of this beautiful silver 1963 split-window Corvette Stingray.  The segment will be included in SPIKE TV’s MUSCLE CAR “flashback”  programming later this year.
