You are looking at one of
the most desirable and exquisitely restored 1956
Corvettes that we have recently had consigned
with us. An independent appraiser has
stated that "this vehicle has received the
most extensive reconditioning of a corvette that
I have inspected" and appraises this beauty
between $150,000 on the high side and $115,000
on the low side. This Polo White exterior
with red waffle pattern interior is flawless, as
is the chrome. For those not familiar with
all the changes to the 56 Corvette, this was the
first year for the optional hardtop, with
optional power-glide transmission and the
increased V8 265- cubic inch engine with single
four barrel carburetor, side windows were real
real glass windows and rolled down, and of
course, the massive grille teeth that were
only used in 1956 and 1957. The
Odometer shows 54,610 miles; however, the
ORIGINAL numbers matching engine had been
removed and crated
(working) with only 3,000 miles on it. A
larger engine was used for driving after that
point. During the restoration, the original
engine was reinstalled in the car. Also, the original MINT '56 air filter will also
come with the purchase of this car, as well as
the original battery, 2 sets of keys, owner's
manual and an album reflecting all stages of the
restoration. PLEASE, serious inquiries
only and owner is not interested in trades!!
Asking price is conservatively within the range
of the appraisal at $139,000.
